Life Remodeled
Overview
Life Remodeled is a Detroit based nonprofit focused on revitalizing neighborhoods by transforming vacant and underused buildings into community hubs. The organization’s mission is rooted in a simple idea: communities already have the talent they need, and access to opportunity is what helps them thrive. As the organization expanded its impact, there was an opportunity to evolve the brand to better reflect its role as a connector and its deep relationship with Detroit communities.
My Role
As a Graphic Designer, I worked alongside my peers and the Life Remodeled team to help evolve the visual identity and design system. My work focused on translating the organization’s mission into a cohesive visual language across brand identity, digital applications, and supporting communications.
Approach
I began by reviewing existing brand materials and exploring how Life Remodeled was being represented across programs, partnerships, and community initiatives. Through this process, we identified a need for a more unified and flexible design system that could better support storytelling and community engagement.
I contributed to the development of a refreshed visual identity that reflects both the grounded nature of Detroit and the optimism of community transformation. This included exploring typography, color, and graphic elements that felt approachable, human, and adaptable across a wide range of applications.
I also supported the creation of a more cohesive system for how the brand could be applied across digital platforms, print materials, and program communications, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility for different audiences and initiatives.
Outcome
The updated visual identity strengthens how Life Remodeled communicates its mission and impact. The system creates a more unified presence across touchpoints and provides a flexible foundation for future storytelling, helping the organization better connect with communities, partners, and supporters.
I’m always open to new opportunities and collaborations.
